About the Journal

Linguistica Pragensia, ISSN 0862-8432 (print), 1805-9635 (online), is a peer-reviewed international journal of language and linguistics that builds upon the tradition of the functional structuralism. It is published biannually by the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague (Department of English Language and ELT Methodology, Institut für germanische Studien, Institut des Études Romanes / Instituto de Estudios Románicos). The journal’s outlook is both synchronic and diachronic. Its interests are empirical as well as theoretical. Established in 1991 as successor to Philologica Pragensia (1958–1990), the journal welcomes submissions that further the understanding of language in the areas of phonology, morphology, syntax and word-formation, of sociolinguistics and psycholinguistics, of formal, computational, cognitive, contrastive and historical linguistics, with a focus  on principal European languages, in particular Romance and Germanic.
